Jessica Kam is a senior TV executive and film producer who has more than 15 years of experience in film, TV, music, news and digital media, with a wealth of media experience that spanned 3 continents.
Jessica founded a production house Heart Farm Co. in 2008 to bridge film resources in and outside of China. In 2009 she assisted Beijing-based Galloping Horse to set up its new film business. She was Producers for Jeff Lau’s "Kungfu Cyborg”and "Just Another Pandora's Box" that grossed RMB140M in box office. In 2010 she produced the feature film "The Piano in a Factory" with Chinese director Zhang Meng and Korean director Kwak Jae-yong, which was invited to over 40 film festivals, and won “Best Actor Award” at the 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival, “Jury Special Recommendation” at the 3rd Sydney Chinese Film Festival, “Grand Jury Prize” at the 28th Miami International Film Festival, “Best Feature Film” and “Best Screenwriter” at Hua Biao Awards, “Jury’s Award” at Golden Rooster Award, Fipresci Prize and 7 nominations at 48th Golden Horse Award, etc.
From 2005 to 08, Jessica oversaw Celestial Pictures' marketing and product development teams to drive the distribution of its Shaw Brothers library titles and TV channels. She was also in charge of music publication and new media development. Her notable achievements includes the creation of Kung Fu TV mobile channel, awarding-winning mobisodes and producing 4 CD albums including best-selling remix album "Retrochine".
From 2003 to 05, Jessica was Deputy General Manager of MTV S. China, during which she launched the MTV China 24-hr channel and drove it profitable within 2 years. Previously, she was VP, Network Communications of MTV Asia, leading the charge in the communications strategies for MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1 in Asia Pacific. She won a PR Week Award in 2002. Before joining MTV in 1999, she was Regional Marketing Manager at Dow Jones Newswires for Asia Pacific. Jessica's diverse background extends to earlier work experience with renowned organizations such as MGM Gold Networks, Disney Studios, Filmnet and Oracle Corporation.
Jessica holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as a B.A. in Computer Science from U. C. Berkeley. She is currently based in Beijing.
