Joy is a global real estate development project manager with a wide range of experience as an architect, an interior, furniture, and fashion designer. Her most recent project was 39 Conduit Road, in Hong Kong for Henderson Land Development Company Limited, Hong Kong. She was the project manager and was responsible for consultant interface, communication, and management of the team of architects, designs, engineers, consultants, artists, contractors, and suppliers for 39 Conduit Road (187,000 sf) Hong Kong. Prior to that, Ms. Wang was founder and principal designer of Globalnomad Design, where she focused on residential and commercial interior design projects. During her career, Ms. Wang has won numerous awards for her design work. In 2012, her project, 39 Conduit Road, just won the Grand Quality Building Award. In 2006, her team was awarded Honorable Mention International Design Competition for Hong Kong Design Institute. In 2001, she was awarded Grand Prix Hanssem International Interior Design Competition in Seoul, Korea. She took third place in International Alvar Aalto Boathouse Design Competition in Helsinki, Finland in 1996.
Joy studied at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MA, Architecture, Thesis “Re-embedding the Global Soul”, and BS, Art and Design), where she was awarded the MIT Faculty Design Award. She has also studied at top arts and architecture programs around the world, including Central Saint Martins (London UK), Sotheby’s Institute (London, UK), Christies Institute (London UK), and Atelier Neo Medici (Monflanquin, France).
Joy identifies herself as a GlobalNomad who divides her time among Europe, America, and Asia. A trained architect with a multidisciplinary design background, she is also an artist, a certified yoga instructor, and a therapist.
In 2012, Joy founded GlobalNomadWorld.com—a social network of conscious,like-minded world citizens who want to make the world a better place. This site will be launched in the summer of 2013.
